The NYPD ESU cow, commemorates one of the unit's most publiced cases. On May 6, 2009, a cow escaped from a Queens slaughterhouse and led ESU members on a mile long chase. As a result of her ability to escape she was named an unoffical mascot of ESU.
NOW FOR THE REST OF THE STORY!
She was turned over to animal control and eventually transported to a sanctuary called The Farrm, in Calverton, NY. The Farm has a 15-year history of taking in a variety of species of rescued animals.
